Welcome to Sandbox Family Services!
The purpose of Sandbox Family Services Social Skills Program
is to directly train children, teens, families and individuals struggling with every day issues like depression, who demonstrate deficits
in the area of social skill acquisition and skills development along
with providing support to parents. Sandbox also provides Marital,
Family and Individual therapy for individuals struggling with grief, loss, relational issues, communication, problems at work etc.
Our primary goal for our social skills program is to provide targeted support toward reaching a developmentally appropriate level of social competence. We use a combination of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the science of behavior that applies learning theory to improve socially significant behaviors along with the advanced evidence-based UCLA Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (UCLA PEERS) to teach social skills. UCLA PEERS is the number one evidence-base social skills practice used with children and teens on the Autism Spectrum.
At Sandbox, we provide a fun and learning environment for our clients by using ABA scientific strategies to promote success in areas of social interaction, communication and behavior replacement through functional language development and modeling behaviors. We strive to provide the tools of ABA and UCLA PEERS to our clients and their families to empower them for long term social interactions. Our program helps our clients establish frienships and relationships in their every-day life. In addition to providing social skills group therapy for our clients we also provide English and Spanish training for our parents whose children are participating in the Social Skills group.
