Paul Carter AMFT, APCC is an associate psychotherapist who works with adults, teens, and couples. He has an extensive work background in field-based, forensic and residential treatment programs. Paul has worked with a wide range of clients populations including military members, dual-diagnosis clients, families, teachers, and clients experiencing homelessness. He integrates a cross-cultural lens in his work with clients to assist them in better understanding how their different cultural identities may inform their current life challenges.

 

Clients describe Paul as funny, warm, and engaged during sessions. Paul employs a wide variety of evidenced-based practices suited to a client's needs, specifically Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as Motivational Interviewing (MI). Paul assists clients in clarifying their values in order to live a life that is rich and meaningful while learning skills involving mindfulness to better manage difficult thoughts, feelings, and memories that can show up.  

 

Paul is committed to serving clients struggling with anxiety, depression, interpersonal challenges, healing unresolved childhood wounds, men's issues, panic attacks, grief, life transitions, and boundary setting.
